February 20, 2001

MUMBAI, India — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Feb. 20, 2001 — Rediff.com India Limited (Nasdaq: REDF), one of India's leading portals focusing on India and the global Indian community, today announced that Rediffmail, the popular e-mail service with over 4.08 million subscribers, launched its Voice Message Attachment feature. The voice attachment facility is currently a free service to all Rediffmail users. This latest offering validates Rediff.com's commitment to continuously provide innovative services based on user insights.

Rediffmail users would need to record their message onto a voice 'recorder', and attach the standard wave file (.wav) to their e-mail. The voice messages can be send in the language of choice, irrespective of the recipient's e-mail provider.

"With this latest feature, Rediffmail users can now communicate with their loved ones in India and worldwide in their voice and language of choice. We believe, such innovations confirm our commitment to continuously provide the latest in Internet services which will enhance the way our users communicate with each other over the Internet" said Ajit Balakrishnan, Chairman and CEO, Rediff.com India Limited.

Rediff.com recently introduced Rediffmail in eleven Indian languages. Earlier, Rediffmail was WAP enabled in alliance with multiple wireless service providers across the country. Last year, Rediffmail was re-launched with significantly more enhanced features and services. These included POP3, e-mail to mobile notification, block sender, and auto reply facility.
