13-year-old arrested for e-mail threats
February 23, 2001
Tavares, Fla. A 13-year-old honors student was arrested after sending death threats to some of her classmates by e-mail.
Vannessa Marie Frank, of Eustis, turned herself in at the county jail Thursday, Lake County Sheriff's officials said.
The e-mails began around Jan. 1, 2001 and continued until Wednesday when Frank admitted to school officials that she made the threats.
Frank had sent e-mails to herself to avoid suspicion, police said.
Authorities became aware of the problem after Sandy Stockrahm, the stepmother of one of the students, came forward.
