Police bombard journalists with insulting e-mails

Journalists in the Czech Republic have been bombarded with rude e-mails from a police press office.

Police have apologised for the "You are shit" e-mails which they've blamed on a virus. They say it automatically sent itself to media contacts as well as other police press departments around the country.

The North Moravia Police press department was the first to be hit by the virus, identified as a strain of the Magistr type.

The department had to shut down its computers for several hours.
