Experian Buys Exactis from 24/7

May 21, 2001

Media Experian, a leading provider of global information solutions, will buy Exactis.com from 24/7 Media Inc. (Nasdaq: TFSM), the global leader in multi-platform interactive marketing, for $13.5 million in cash. The acquisition strengthens Experian's ability to deliver highly integrated, cost-effective email campaigns for businesses that want to communicate with their customers and prospects through personalized and targeted email messages.

The acquisition of Exactis gives Experian an email-marketing infrastructure that offers marketers the most effective, immediate, targeted and inexpensive way to reach opt-in customers and self-identified prospects online.

"This acquisition reinforces our commitment to deliver turn-key marketing solutions," said Scot Thomas, chief executive officer, Experian Marketing Solutions. "Permission-based e-mail marketing is a critical component of any well-tailored customer-relationship management strategy. The expertise and energy of the Exactis team will be an invaluable asset as we work together to satisfy industry and consumer demand for e-mail messaging."

"With the sale of 24/7 Exactis, 24/7 Media has achieved two major objectives, which are to improve the company's cash position and to refocus our attention onto the company's core competencies, network ad sales, email list management and brokerage, ad serving and search engine optimization," said David J. Moore, 24/7 Media CEO.

Experian is a subsidiary of The Great Universal Stores PLC and has headquarters in Nottingham, UK and Orange, California. Its 12,000 people support clients in more than 50 countries. Annual sales are about $1.5 billion.
