E-mail records seized from teacher accused of rape
June 30, 2001
EVERETT Detectives have seized e-mail records from Susan Lemery, a Marysville teacher accused of having sexual contact with two teenage boys.
She is charged with child rape and molestation.
Files from a computer seized from Lemery's home earlier this month contain the e-mail addresses of a 14-year-old boy, according to Washington State Patrol crime lab experts. The boy is one of two Marysville teenagers who claim Lemery engaged them in sexual acts.
Sheriff's officers declined to provide further details about the files.
Lemery was arrested June 12, four days after she was suspended from her job at Olivia Park Elementary in the Mukilteo School District. She has pleaded not guilty to two counts of third-degree child rape and one charge of third-degree child molestation.
None of her pupils is involved in the case. Lemery denies the allegations. Her trial is set for Aug. 24 in Snohomish County Superior Court.
