Online advertising firm DoubleClick said Monday it sold its e-mail list services unit to database services provider InfoUSA so that it could focus on its e-mail technology business.
The two companies said in a statement that the deal included an exclusive pact for InfoUSA to use DoubleClick's e-mail technology, DARTmail, for five years to deliver e-mail messages for the list services business.
DoubleClick's e-mail list services unit has over 40 million opt-in names under management as well as 28 million postal names and addresses as part of its database.
