Email Marketers Seek New Ways to Reach Customers
January 8, 2010As email marketing becomes an increasingly important driver of revenue for companies around the world, savvy marketers are focusing on improving their programs and enhancing results. To take their email marketing campaigns to a higher level, thousands of marketers logged in last year to Silverpop's monthly Webinars.
Silverpop®, the world's only provider of both email marketing and marketing automation solutions specifically tailored to the unique needs of B2C and B2B marketers, is an industry leader in providing advice and strategic consultation on innovative tactics that can dramatically improve email marketing results. Through the publication of white papers, blog postings, byline articles, newsletter, Webinars and more, Silverpop helps marketers better engage with customers and prospects.
During the past year, Webinar topics that particularly resonated with marketers focused on strategies to maximize engagement. Two of the Webinars generating the highest registrations offered advice on how to incorporate social media into email marketing programs and how to send emails at times when recipients are most likely to respond.
The Webinar "Email Marketing Goes Social: What It Takes to Make Email Sharing Work" showed marketers how to choose the right networks, create "share-worthy" content, promote links to social networks correctly and more. Attendees learned what types of offers are most shared, what creative layouts work best, and what words incent recipients to post messages on social sites.
Overall, more than eight out of 10 (84 percent) marketers plan to include social media into their email programs in 2010, according to respondents of an online survey recently conducted by Silverpop.
"It's easy to see why email marketers are excited about social media," said Loren McDonald, vice president of industry relations for Silverpop, who manages the company's Webinar program. "One message to a single recipient has the potential to reach hundreds, or more. Magnify that by every brand ambassador and influencer on your list and the viral potential is truly staggering."
"In Search of the Ideal Email Send Time" was the second-most popular Webinar presented last year. It delivered tactics marketers can use to begin optimizing email send time, and included an overview of Silverpop's Send Time Optimization feature. Silverpop was recently recognized for this proprietary feature in Econsultancy's Innovation Award competition.
"Silverpop has long been recognized for its powerful, easy to use marketing platform, but it takes more than software and data centers to really engage with customers in meaningful and mutually beneficial ways," said Silverpop CEO Bill Nussey. "We recognize that marketers are hungry to learn new techniques to improve their online marketing efforts, drive revenue and build brand loyalty. And we're committed to continuing to offer industry-leading thought capital to help ensure their success."
